We are wholly transparent about how we make our diamonds.

In terms of the science behind the magic, it goes like this:

1.            We extract carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, as a gas.

2.            We liquify and purify.

3.            We split water using Electrolysis to make Oxygen and Hydrogen.

4.            We use the CO2 and the H2 to make Methane. 

5.            We feed this into our Diamond Mill (CVD reactor)

6.            Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) is a technique by which diamonds can be grown from a hydrocarbon gas mixture. In the CVD process, a thin slice of diamond seed is placed in a sealed chamber and heated. The chamber is then filled with our gases and the diamond seed builds up into a crystal, atom by atom, layer by layer.

7.            It is powered by 100% wind and solar energy from Ecotricity.

8.            We have global patents and trademarks on the process. 

9.            Every part of our process happens on site at our Sky Mining facility in the Cotswolds. 

SkyDiamonds are optically, physically and chemically identical to Earth-mined diamonds. There is no difference apart from where they have come from: one comes from the sky and one is extracted from the earth.

SkyDiamonds come complete with certification. The AnchorCert Gemological Institute is a diamond certification organization internationally recognised for authenticating all diamonds. They are based in Birmingham. Every Skydiamond over 0.3cts is laser etched with our mark and all stones over 0.5cts come with its certification number on and comes with its certificate upon purchase.
